Best Bikes in the World - A Shill

Fire sale! Fire sale! Fire sale! Fire sale!

The Hall Farm Center For Arts & Education fixed up a couple of vintage bikes and are going to be auctioning them off as part of a fundraising effort.

But look! A special deal for B&E readers! You can buy them before they go on sale to the public! For a generous donation to Hall Farm, they can be yours.

Kitschy and functional, these bikes will help you stay fit, while making you the envy of every kitsch-and-function lover in your neighborhood. One for him, one for her! Two for them! Get in shape while supporting a good cause! Stroke a plastic cow for good luck as you pedal these gearless wonders over moderate inclines!

Hall Farm offers resources and training in the integration of the arts for New York City public school teachers. In case that sounds like silly jargon, the arts are used as a teaching tool.

So, for example, a chemistry class might learn to make and use paint. A humanities class might create pop-up books as part of a research project on the Middle Ages.

For more information about Hall Farm, including contact information, you can click on their name under "Effective Links." Where the bikes and arts integration program are concerned, you'll want to speak with director Philip Schoolman. He may not be bald, but he is rather effective.

Phil is, like me, a member of the hapless McNeill's Brewers. So be sure to offer your heartfelt condolences, as well.

That should be worked out with Phil. I have no idea, actually.

I'm in Amsterdam, where bikes and life are cheap, and so I am prepared to offer you two Euros, a pint of Duvel, a stick of Thai, and a peek at a Croatian prostitute's treasured secret.
